OPENING REMARKS “Good afternoon, everyone. Thank you to the Aurora Public Library for hosting and thank you all for being here today. For the past eight years as your Mayor I’ve been focused on one thing, showing up for Aurora.

Leadership isn’t showing up once every four years and making promises. Real leadership means showing up every day—at every opening, every parade, every community event, for every honest conversation and every moment that matters.

Aurora residents expect their elected officials to manage taxpayer dollars responsibly, and that principle should apply to Council compensation as well. Over the 2022-2026 term, Council members received annual cost-of-living increases totaling about 11%, with further adjustments continuing each year
