I supported you as councillor and your two terms as Mayor of Aurora and will continue to do so. Your ongoing commitment to making Aurora the place to live and work has been a success and very much appreciated.
Residents in Aurora are proud of your accomplishments, in particular: Your leadership in the development of the Aurora Town Square which revitalized the downtown area. Environmental protection by acquiring 28 acres of parkland and preserving the Henderson Forest. Bringing in new businesses with the creation of the Aurora Business Continuity Task Force. Keeping the tax levy increase at 2.2% in the 2026 budget.
I was particularly excited and impressed when Premier Ford introduced the Strong Mayor Powers which allowed you to veto the proposed 42.6% salary increase for the members of council to which most Aurora residents opposed.
