It is with great pride and sincerity that Raz and I offer our endorsement of Tom Mrakas for Mayor of Aurora.
For over fifty-three years, our family business has proudly served this community. During one of the most difficult and uncertain times we faced with our previous landlord, Tom was one of the very first people at our door offering support, guidance, and genuine care. He did not simply offer words, he took action. He rallied behind us, to help us find a new home so that our longstanding business could continue to remain part of the heart of Aurora. That kind of leadership, compassion, and commitment to local businesses is something we will never forget.
I also had the privilege of serving alongside for six year’s with Tom, on the Town of Aurora Economic Development Board, where I witnessed firsthand his dedication, professionalism, and deep love for this town. Tom consistently approaches every conversation and decision with one goal in mind: what is best for Aurora and the people who call it home. He listens, he shows up, and he works hard to bring people together to move our community forward.
What stands out most about Tom is that he leads with both heart and vision. He understands the importance of supporting local businesses, strengthening community connections, encouraging growth, and preserving the character and spirit that make Aurora such a special place to live and work.
Raz and I have always believed in positive progress and meaningful change for Aurora. We want to see our town continue to thrive for future generations while maintaining the strong sense of community that has always defined it. We truly believe Tom shares that same vision and has the integrity, experience, and dedication to help lead Aurora into an even brighter future.
Like any strong and engaged community members, we may not always agree on every issue or every decision, but leadership is not about agreeing all the time. It is about trust, respect, and knowing that your mayor is working with sincere intentions for the betterment of the town. Even when perspectives may differ, we know Tom’s heart has always been with the people of Aurora, and he will continue to have our support.
