I have been a resident of Aurora for over 30 years and have had the pleasure of raising my four children here.

I have been able to observe Mayor Tom Mrakas’ success over many of these years including attending many volunteer events with him. Tom has always impressed me with his work effort, his consistent communications and his community first approach. The Town of Aurora has prospered in many aspects during his terms.

I have been a volunteer within the community for over 20 years including my current role as Co-President of the Aurora Barbarians Rugby Football club. Tom has been a big supporter of youth sports and activities within the community. He has been instrumental in being a visionary for increasing facilities, particularly multipurpose artificial turf fields, within the town. He was particularly helpful in developing an innovative solution for our club to partner with the town in a Co-funded new field at Sheppard’s Bush. This field opened in late 2025 and has already hosted a significant amount of Provincial representative activities providing a boost for sports tourism within the town. Our club has over 700 members from ages 6 to beyond 60 and this new field allows us to continue to grow providing healthy outdoor activities for male and female youth, special needs participants and adult touch.

We have found Mayor Mrakas to be accessible and responsive to the needs of our organization and to sports organizations in general. He is a believer in keeping our community active and continuing to invest in facilities to support this. I am more than happy to endorse Tom Mrakas for re-election as Mayor in the upcoming municipal election.
