It has been exactly a year and a half since my family moved to Aurora. In this time, I have truly felt what it means to have a hometown — we’ve finally put down roots and built our small family here. I love everything about Aurora: its beautiful environment, friendly community, great facilities, and rich culture.
When my husband and I decided to get married, we struggled to choose witnesses for such an important day. We thought: since we’re starting our family in this town, why not ask the Mayor? We never imagined he would say yes — and he not only attended our wedding but made it incredibly special. His grace and kindness made us feel truly welcomed and blessed by this town. That moment will stay with us forever.
I also attended his 2026 Mayor’s Lunch. Having lived in Canada for nearly 20 years, I have never heard a more impressive, thoughtful speech. He spoke confidently without notes, covering every detail: low taxes, strong public safety, downtown revitalization, business growth, and environmental progress. He clearly laid out real achievements, not just promises. It was obvious he is a leader who works hard, knows the facts, and truly delivers for residents.
I deeply admire how he connects with people: regular coffee chats with residents, listening to our needs, and acting on them. Under his leadership, Aurora has thrived:
• We have one of the lowest tax rates in the region
• The new Town Square and CFWI have brought life back to our downtown
• Our parks, trails, and services keep getting better
• He has fought for affordable housing, safer streets, and sustainable growth
He is exactly the kind of caring, effective, down-to-earth mayor we need.
I live in Ward 2 and am proud to fully support Tom Mrakas in this year’s election. Thank you for making Aurora such a wonderful place to live, raise a family, and call home.
