Kaleia Avenue/Elyse Court and Wellington Street East

This week, at York Region Committee of the Whole, I brought forward a motion to approve Aurora Council’s request for a signalized intersection to be installed at the Kaleia Avenue/Elyse Court and Wellington Street East intersection. I am happy to say that  the motion was approved (it will need to be ratified at Council in 2 weeks). While this intersection has been planned for some time, there was an urgency to the matter that required us to move this forward now.  The safety of our residents is our paramount concern –  not only in terms of vehicle traffic safety but also for pedestrians; for families living on the south side that have no way to safely cross to street to get to the SARC and playing fields. I am pleased to see that we have been able to get this important safety measure approved for our community.
