Modernized Fence Bylaw

Aurora Town Council has approved a new Modernized Fence bylaw. The new Fence bylaw sets standards for fences in Aurora that include specific rules around the fence height, type of structure and materials used. The rules vary depending on if the fence is on a residential property or non-residential property and whether the fence is used to enclose a pool.

Our community is growing, and staff have seen an increase in the number of inquiries related to the fence exemption process. This new Fence By-law includes clearer definitions, enhanced enforcement abilities and updated provisions that will allow for a more efficient process for residents.
