As we are being asked to meet targets for growth, our municipalities are in urgent need of predictable, long-term funding to support critical infrastructure like roads, bridges, and public transit. We need all levels of Government to work towards a solution that doesn’t just look at property taxes being the only way to pay for critical infrastructure in our communities. That’s why we’re calling on the province to redistribute a portion of the Land Transfer Tax and the Feds to redistribute a portion if the GST on new home sales—no new taxes, just a fair share of our own money for our communities! This motion ensures we have the resources to build and maintain the infrastructure that keeps our municipalities running smoothly without having to raise property taxes to do so. #LeadershipThatGetsThingsDone
