Thank you Betty…

It is with deep appreciation and heartfelt emotion that I share that Betty DeBartolo, my outstanding Executive Assistant, will be retiring this November.
For many years, Betty has been the heart of the Mayor’s Office — a calm, steady, and deeply trusted presence. She has supported not only myself, but past Mayors, Council, Town staff, and the wider community with remarkable dedication, grace, and professionalism.
Whether managing a packed calendar, organizing high-pressure meetings, or greeting residents with her signature warmth and care, Betty has consistently gone above and beyond — always with humility, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to public service.
I can say without hesitation that working alongside Betty has been one of the great privileges of my time as Mayor. She has been more than an assistant — she has been a confidante, an advisor, and a true friend.
While we are fortunate to have a few more months with her before she officially begins her well-earned retirement, I wanted to take this opportunity to recognize and celebrate all that she has contributed to this office and to the Town of Aurora.
I know the months ahead will be bittersweet, but I’m grateful we still have time to work alongside her, laugh with her, and express our appreciation in person.
Thank you, Betty, for everything. Aurora is better because of you.
