York Region Drinking Water

This morning at Regional Council, we received an important update on York Region’s drinking water and wastewater systems, highlighting not only the scale of what we deliver, but also why York Region has some of the best tasting tap water anywhere.  

With 295 million litres of drinking water coming from Toronto every single day, one thing is clear, protecting the Great Lakes isn’t optional, it’s essential.

They are our lifeline. Our source of clean, safe drinking water for generations to come.

I’m proud to serve as York Region’s representative on the Great Lakes & St. Lawrence Cities Initiative, working alongside partners across North America to protect and preserve this critical freshwater resource.
