About

Tom & Alison

My wife Alison and I have called Aurora home for almost 18 years and we’ve loved it from day one. The fantastic trail system, the Farmers Market, the wide variety of sports and recreation programs, the incredible facilities and amenities and the rich history and culture our Town has to offer, create wonderful opportunities to enjoy living, working and playing in our vibrant community.

Since moving to Aurora I have been an active volunteer, participating in fundraising and community events like the Magna Hoedown, the Terry Fox Run, the Big Bike for Heart and Stroke, the Big Sister-Big Brother Bowl for Kids and many more. I have also been an active participant on many town committees, such as the Environmental Advisory Committee, and Boards, such as the Aurora Cultural Centre.

My most important service commitment to our community has been as your representative on Aurora Council. When I was elected, I committed to work with you, and for you, so that together we could build an even stronger community. I believe I’ve honoured that commitment.

From service improvements to tax savings, from protecting our environment to guaranteeing our right to decide as a community, when, how, or if we should grow – I’ve worked hard to improve the lives of all residents.

Tom at the Hoedown

I have been working for Aurora from my very first day as a Councillor. I rolled up my sleeves and got to work with fellow Council members, residents, businesses and all levels of government. I’m proud of what we have accomplished together – a track record of successful collaboration, consensus building and decisions that serve all members of our community – proving that by working together we can push past the politics and get things done.

It has been my honour to serve on Aurora Council for the past eight years and I’m excited for the opportunity to continue to serve you as your Mayor.

Community involvement

I have been actively involved in my community since moving to Aurora. I have been a member of various committees and boards and an active volunteer and participant in numerous community events.
