NO Salary Increase

Since announcing that the Town of Aurora’s budget has been officially adopted, I have received numerous emails from residents inquiring about Council compensation. Residents want to know if the raise and increased compensation package that Council voted to approve in October (on a 4-3 vote) are included in the budget.
I want to clarify for all residents, there is NO increase in Council compensation in the approved budget.
Residents’ feedback that I received was clear – use the tools available to me, to ensure that the increase in compensation was not included in the budget.
And I did, just that; I exercised the authority granted to me by Provincial legislation to NOT include any additional increase in Council compensation. #leadershipthatgetsthingsdone
