Windrow Clearing

With the recent snowfall and the many conversations surrounding and concerns raised regarding how best to address windrows, I would like to update everyone on a few things the Town is considering. Specifically, the Town is exploring the creation of a program to provide a windrow snow clearing service, free of charge, to seniors and physically challenged residents who do not have an able-bodied person living in their household. For those who may not be aware, a snow windrow is the bank of snow that is left across one’s driveway by a snowplow. Staff will be presenting a report soon, and Council will decide if this approach should be implemented for next winter. I believe that it is our responsibility as a Council and municipality to explore all options to provide services our residents may need, in particular, seniors and physically challenged individuals in our community.

I will keep everyone updated as we continue the discussions and work towards a solution. More to come…

  1. Hi Tom Mrakas Mayor.
    I would like to know
Do you have any plans for driveway windrow snow removal for seniors this year?
Please let us know about that.
Thanks and have a good day.

  2. Hi Mayor Mrakas; We just received a survey on windrow removal for 2024-25 winter season. I would like to access this on line. But I was not successful. I tried the address aurora.ca/WindrowSurvey , but I kept going in circles.
