Yvonne Fernandes – Ward 4 City Councillor Kitchener

“I got to know Tom Mrakas when he  reached out to municipal councilors across a wide section of Southwestern Ontario when he appealed to us to work with him on Ontario Municipal Board reform. Tom’s incredible determination to see significant change to the OMB resulted in over 17 municipal councilors coming together for a year to create a summit. At this summit day there were close to 100 municipal representatives in attendance. This day was successful not only through the various discussions and information sharing, it resulted in a report that Tom presented to the provincial representatives during their review of the OMB.  Tom’s commitment to this significant undertaking shows that when he decides to initiate a project that he is determined to see it completion.

As your Mayor he has laid the ground work to be your advocate not only in your community but already has the ear of the province.”
